ESTACADA, Ore. (AP) — Clackamas County sheriff’s deputies have rounded up two malnourished horses found abandoned east of Estacada, Ore., and hope to hear from anyone who has information about them.

Deputy Clint Pierce said Friday the horses were found by Portland General Electric workers on Wednesday in a PGE-owned wooded area near the Mount Hood National Forest. The animals had been seen wandering along State Highway 224 earlier in the day.

PGE workers helped in the roundup. One horse is a chestnut mare with two rear white socks, a white blaze and one blue eye. The other horse is a younger chestnut gelding with a white blaze.

A local animal rescue is caring for the horses.
