Southeast Missouri runs to 28-13 victory

CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) — Henry Harris ran for 179 yards and two touchdowns Saturday as Southeast Missouri State won its fourth straight game with a 28-13 victory over Eastern Illinois.

The Redhawks (4-1, 3-0 Ohio Valley), who came into the game ranked 11th in the nation in rushing among FCS schools with an average of 249.3 yards per game, surpassed that with 277 yards Saturday. Quarterback Matt Scheible added 66 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries, while also completing 7 of 10 passes for 41 yards.

Panthers quarterback Jimmy Garappolo (20 of 33, 163 yards) was intercepted four times by the Redhawks. Jimmy Potempa had 99 yards rushing on 19 carries for Eastern Illinois (0-5, 0-3).

Southeast Missouri trailed 10-7 at halftime before Scheible scored on a 1-yard run and Tylor Brock returned an interception — one of two he had in the game — 48 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter.
