MIAMI (AP) — LeBron James and Chris Bosh combined for 38 points in their Miami preseason debuts, and the Heat easily beat the Detroit Pistons 105-89 on Tuesday night in the exhibition opener for both teams.

The Heat lost Dwyane Wade 3:17 into the game with a strained right hamstring. He did not return.

So the night of great fanfare was marred for the Heat, not long after the team with championship aspirations saw the trio of Wade, James and Bosh take the floor as NBA teammates for the first time.

Bosh finished with 20 points and six rebounds on 8-of-13 shooting. James, the NBA’s two-time reigning MVP, added 18 points.

Ben Gordon led Detroit with 17 points.
