LAKEBAY, Wash. (AP) — Pierce County sheriff’s detectives are trying to sort out what happened in a shootout at a marijuana grow-house at Lakebay, on the Key Peninsula between Tacoma and Shelton.

Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said Friday one person was killed and two wounded as more than 50 gun and shotgun rounds were fired. Three people are in custody and three or four suspects are still at large.

Gunfire erupted Thursday night when a group attempted a home-invasion robbery at the house where drugs were sold.

One of the intruders was killed and one wounded. A person inside the home was wounded. The wounded are expected to survive. Two other people who were in the home and a getaway driver have been arrested.

The other suspects evaded a search.
