An Everett man was arrested by Oregon State Police (OSP) early Wednesday morning during a traffic stop near Tualatin after over two pounds of marijuana was found concealed in the car he was driving. The OSP Drug Enforcement Section is continuing the investigation.

On October 6, 2010 at approximately 1:50 a.m. an OSP trooper stopped a 1996 Honda Civic displaying California license plates northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 291 for failure to maintain a lane of travel. The car had two occupants identified as driver B. LEE MEKSAVANG, age 46, from Everett, Washington, and a 34-year old male passenger who recently moved from Washington to California.

Subsequent investigation led the trooper to discover approximately 2.35 lbs of marijuana concealed inside the car’s trunk. After the discovery, a Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office drug detection canine assisted with the search but didn’t find anymore marijuana. The seized marijuana has an estimated value of $6,000.

MEKSAVANG was arrested for Unlawful Possession and Delivery of Marijuana. He was lodged in the Washington County Jail.

The passenger was not arrested and the car was towed from the scene.
