CenturyLink-Qwest merger: Although a Washington Utility and Transportation Commission staff report on the proposed CenturyLink-Qwest merger raised concerns that layoffs would be necessary to meet cost-cutting goals, a CenturyLink official said the company does not plan to lay off employees.
