ABC’s “20/20” episode on Clyde Ray Spencer has been rescheduled to Nov. 5.
The episode had been scheduled to air tonight.
Spencer, a former Vancouver police officer, served nearly 20 years in prison for sexually abusing his children. Last month he was allowed to withdraw the no-contest pleas he entered in 1985.
After entering the no-contest pleas, Spencer was sentenced to two life terms plus 14 years. He was denied parole several times because he maintained his innocence.
Appellate rulings have shredded the way his case was handled by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office.
Spencer’s sentence was commuted by former Gov. Gary Locke just before Locke left office in 2004. Locke cited a number of troubling aspects with Spencer’s case, including the fact that a supervising detective had an affair with Spencer’s ex-wife.
