LEWISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Backup quarterback Marc Quilling threw for three touchdowns and Alan Elder rushed for 104 yards to lead Lafayette to a 33-22 win over Bucknell on Saturday.

Quilling entered the game in the second quarter to replace starter Ryan O’Neil, who threw a 75-yard touchdown to Patrick Mputu for the Leopards (2-6, 1-1 Patriot League) in the first quarter.

Lafayette coach Frank Tavani decided to make the switch because he felt O’Neil — who had a fumble — wasn’t running the offense effectively. O’Neil finished with 116 yards passing, completing 5 of 11 passes.

Quilling completed 13 of 20 passes for 213 yards with passing scores of 35, 30 and 31 yards for Lafayette. Quilling’s last touchdown pass put the Leopards up 30-14 in the third.

Brandon Wesley threw for 196 yards, a touchdown and an interception and was sacked six times for the Bison (1-7, 1-2).
