The Camas Public Library will be closed to the public Nov. 4-5 for staff training and the installation of new equipment.

New radio frequency identification equipment and a materials sorting system will be installed. Library staff will also rearrange book shelves and computers, place tags on books and have one day of training on the new systems. The new equipment cost $134,325 and was purchased with proceeds from the library expansion bond.

The new identification equipment will speed up both checkout and return of materials and provide additional security, according to the library.

Even though the library will be closed, the regularly scheduled First Friday reception in the gallery will take place as usual. For information, call the library at 834-4692.
