TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Philip Sylvester rushed for 202 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries Saturday and Florida A&M earned a 31-17 victory over Morgan State in a Mid-East Athletic Conference game.

Sylvester gave the Rattlers breathing room on both his touchdowns. The first, on a 14-yard run with 5:09 left in the first half, put FAMU (5-3, 4-1) ahead 17-3. But Morgan State (4-4, 3-2) clawed its way to a 17-17 tie, getting a 1-yard touchdown run from Jephte Cherenfant in the third quarter and a 19-yard touchdown pass from Delonte Williams to Chuka Okakpu early in the fourth.

But Williams was intercepted by Jerral Stewart with 7:17 left and the sophomore defensive back returned it 37 yards for the touchdown that gave the Rattlers the lead for good. Sylvester’s second touchdown, an 88-yard run, sealed it, once again giving FAMU a two-touchdown lead.
