EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — An Everett man accused of nearly decapitating a woman and leaving her body in a sleeping bag near Paine Field says the killing was self defense.
In court papers field Tuesday the lawyer for James Naudon says there’s evidence that Angela Beery threatened him with a knife.
The 26-year-old Naudon is charged with second-degree murder in the May 1 slaying at his apartment. The Daily Herald reports he met Beery at a bowling alley, had drinks and went back to his apartment where he says she demanded $100.
Beery’s body was found the next day. The 39-year-old had been stabbed in the throat, neck and head.
