Yankees call up 1B Miranda, utility guy Russo

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The New York Yankees have called up first baseman Juan Miranda and utility man Kevin Russo.

They were in uniform Sunday for New York’s game at Texas. Both had been playing for Triple-A Scanton/Wilkes-Barre.

Miranda played 28 games earlier this season and saw brief action each of the two previous years. Over 41 career games, he’s hitting .263 with four home runs and 13 RBIs.

Russo played 25 games for the Yankees earlier this season, working at second base, third base and left field. He hit .188 with four RBIs and a stolen base.
