BANGOR, Wash. (AP) — Two commanding officers at the Navy’s nuclear submarine base at Bangor, Washington, have been relieved of their commands this week.

The Navy says Capt. Ronald Gero (Jero) was relieved Friday as commander of the guided missile submarine USS Ohio’s Blue crew. The Navy says the leader of Submarine Group Nine, Rear Adm. James Caldwell, had lost confidence in Gero’s ability to command after an investigation into alleged inappropriate personal behavior.

The service says Capt. David Solms, head of the Trident Training Facility, was relieved of his command Tuesday by the had of the Submarine Learning Center in Groton, Conn., for inappropriate personal behavior. The Navy would give no further details about the offenses.
