SAN DIEGO (AP) — Chargers rookie running back Ryan Mathews was helped off the field after being hurt at the end of a 3-yard run in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against Jacksonville.
Mathews was being tackled when Jaguars linebacker Kirk Morrison landed on his legs.
After being examined on the bench, Mathews was taken to the locker room on a cart. The injury appeared to be to his right leg, but there was no word from the team on the exact injury.
