VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — A Clark County prosecutor has filed three theft charges against a woman who splashed a caustic substance on her face and claimed a stranger had attacked her.

The felony charges filed Monday by Deputy Prosecutor Tony Golik relate to a public fund set up to benefit Bethany Storro after she was burned. Her parents have said all money raised for her will be returned.

The Columbian reports that in court papers, Storro says she was trying to kill herself, or at least get a new face, when she put caustic drain cleaner on her face on Aug. 30.
