Blaine — Vancouver’s Cadet Manufacturing was among 11 companies honored Wednesday in Blaine by the Association of Washington Business.
AWB’s Manufacturing Awards recognized green workplaces, innovation and — in Cadet’s case — operational excellence. After hiring a full-time employee to teach and implement lean manufacturing principles throughout the company, Cadet recorded a 75 percent reduction in machine and line changeover times, and a number of other improvements to its processes.
