ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Seattle Mariners closer David Aardsma will be sidelined for two or three days because of a mild left oblique strain.

Mariners interim manager Daren Brown said Saturday that the right-hander felt some soreness after his last appearance last Sunday.

Aardsma, who is 0-6 with 31 saves and a 3.44 ERA in 53 games, can play catch. He has converted 15 of 16 save opportunities since the All-Star break.

Brandon League will fill in for Aardsma in the closer’s role.
