IRVING, Texas (AP) — Dallas Cowboys left guard Kyle Kosier and tight end Jason Witten will get extra time to heal sprained right knees because the team’s bye is this week.

Kosier and Witten had MRIs on Monday, a day after the Cowboys’ win at Houston.

Kosier says there is no damage after he aggravated the injury he sustained in training camp that forced him to miss the season opener. Someone fell on Kosier’s leg, and he came out of Sunday’s game early.

Witten continued in the game after getting hurt.

Coach Wade Phillips says it’s “more iffy on Kosier” being able to play the next game Oct. 10 against Tennessee. The coach says Witten should play, but that the preliminary report on Kosier is he could be sidelined two weeks.
