TUMWATER, Wash. (AP) — A Washington State Patrol spokeswoman says Tumwater’s municipal judge has been arrested for investigation of drunken driving. Spokeswoman Brandy Kessler says 65-year-old John Lyman’s SUV is accused of striking two vehicles in two separate incidents last Saturday, then leaving the scene both times.

She says the victim in the second crash called 911 and followed the SUV to its destination — Lyman’s house.

After his arrest, and about two hours after the wrecks, the spokeswoman says Lyman registered blood alcohol levels of 0.135 and 0.140 in two separate breathalyzer tests at the Olympia Police Department. It’s illegal in Washington state to operate a vehicle with a blood alcohol level above 0.08. The judge was not booked into jail.

Lyman’s lawyer James Dixon declined comment Tuesday and said Lyman did not want to comment.
