WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) — The Washington Mystics have acquired All-Star Nicky Anosike from the Minnesota Lynx two days before the WNBA draft.

General manager and coach Trudi Lacey announced Saturday that Anosike will give the Mystics the low-post presence they have been missing. The Lynx will receive the Mystics’ first-round pick in the 2012 draft.

Anosike averaged 9.2 points and 6.8 rebounds for Minnesota last season. The 6-foot-3 forward/center played for Tennessee and won NCAA titles in 2007 and 2008.

The Lynx will have the first pick in the WNBA draft Monday. Connecticut’s Maya Moore is expected to be the No. 1 selection.

The Mystics open their season on the road June 4 at the Connecticut Sun.
