SAN DIEGO (AP) — The San Diego Padres recalled left-hander Wade LeBlanc from Triple-A Tucson on Sunday, reinstated utility man Eric Patterson from the 15-day disabled list and optioned righty Samuel Deduno and outfielder Cedric Hunter to Tucson.
LeBlanc started for Tucson on April 7, allowing nine runs — eight earned — on 10 hits in 4 1-3 innings. He went 8-12 with a 4.25 ERA last season with San Diego. Padres manager Bud Black said LeBlanc would be in the Padres bullpen on Sunday.
Patterson began the season on the disabled list with a strained left hamstring. He was in the Padres’ starting lineup in centerfield Sunday.
Deduno was recalled from Triple-A Tucson on March 28th and made two relief appearances. Hunter was also recalled from Triple-A Tucson and collected his first big league hit April 5th.
