Don’t worry about texting lingo

I read reports on texting, and I agree that everyone involved has a valid point. Kids like to text because it’s a fun, easy way to communicate. Parents and teachers are concerned about their kids’ grades and conventions, because they “don’t write properly.” I think people who are really concerned about texting are being a bit paranoid.

When I go on Facebook, I write things like “lol” and “omg” all the time, but I still have virtually perfect conventions. I have never seen any text talk used in work, either, so I think people should calm down. If there are problems with text lingo (and I’m not denying that there are), I’m surprised that it got there. I think that people who write like that are lazy or they text too much. Or both. Kids need to be careful, but parents and teachers need to calm down unless texting is a constant problem.
