WALLA WALLA, Wash. (AP) — To complete their study of the Civil War students at a Walla Walla school re-enacted the Battle of Gettysburg on the playground.
The Union-Bulletin reports the Garrison Middle School students weren’t allowed to use toy guns Tuesday, so they brought toy swords as weapons instead.
Students wore arm bands to designate the armies — red with the Confederate flag for the South and blue with the U.S flag for the north.
