Three people were hospitalized after the car they were in spun out of control and was hit by another vehicle Friday night on the Glenn Jackson Bridge.

According to the Washington State Patrol report, Jaya M. Graver of Gresham, Ore., was driving a 1997 Honda Accord south on Interstate 205 within Vancouver city limits at 10:23 p.m. when the car went out of control and spun out. It stopped, facing the wrong way.

Ridgefield resident Pete Deschand, 34, was unable to stop his 1991 Ford Explorer in time, and struck the Honda on the driver’s side.

All three people in the Honda were transported to Southwest Washington Medical Center. Graver, 20, had what were described as a sore back, neck and stomach; Joseph W. Ferguson, 25, Bradenton, Fla., had an injured left knee; and Patrick M. Forbes, 18, Vancouver, suffered a fractured pelvis, according to the report. Graver and Forbes were not wearing seat belts, the WSP news release said.

All three have since been released from the hospital. Deschand was not injured, the report said.

Investigators attributed the accident to excessive speed, and Graver was cited for a speeding violation; her Honda was totaled. Deschand’s Ford Explorer had an estimated $5,000 in damage; he was able to drive it away.
