Clark County commissioners will appoint one person to fill a vacancy on the City/County Telecommunications Commission.

The commission advises the county commissioners and Vancouver City Council on matters relating to telecommunications and cable television. It makes reports, monitors compliance and establishes rules and regulations regarding cable television and associated telecommunications issues.

The commission will serve as the advisory body during franchise renewal negotiations with Comcast Cable in 2011-2012.

Four members are appointed by county commissioners and four by the city council.

Commission meetings are conducted quarterly at 7 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month at City Hall, 210 E. 13th St.

The appointment will be for a three-year term, starting immediately and ending in 2014.

Applicants should submit a letter of interest and résumé to Jennifer Clark, Board of County Commissioners, P.O. Box 5000, Vancouver, WA 98666-5000.

Applications may also be faxed to 360-397-6058 or emailed to jennifer.clark@clark.wa.gov.

The deadline is 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 3.
