Letter: President disappoints

The Columbian

I can remain silent no longer. After two years, I have lost respect for President Barack Obama. From creating “czars” with no congressional consent to shoving a health insurance mandate on citizens and states, he has shown little respect for the Constitution he swore to uphold and defend. His economic and energy policies border on treason, taking his progressive redistribution of wealth concept from national to international. He is not allowing any new drilling on our own soil (No, I can’t credit him for the ones now coming on line approved during the Clinton and Bush tenures) yet when Brazil starts drilling offshore, the U.S. could be its best customer. That would seem counter to the security interest of our nation.

Two years ago, he said it was a lack of leadership that brought us to having to increase the debt ceiling. Now, after increasing the debt at a faster rate than Bush did, he wants to raise it again, after deriding the Republicans for trying to reduce it by only 1 percent.

His strategy is now to raise taxes on the “rich,” or those who invest in creating jobs, during this continued recession. Huh?

How’s that hope and change working out for you?
