I am curious each time a reader uses the phrase “class warfare” in an opinion or letter. Folks, there is always class warfare going on. It has been going on since humans started recording history. It has always been waged by both sides of the economic spectrum.
As far as who always initially wins this battle, consider who can buy lobbyists, politicians, and Supreme Court justices. Who gets to socialize with our elected representatives and write legislation for them? Who can afford to buy multi-million dollar campaign ads? Why are tax rates on the wealthy and tax payments by corporations (not small business) at historic lows? Why have the ultra-wealthy prospered all through this economic disaster? The poor and middle classes are not winning this “class warfare” and actually have no weapons that can match the other side (money is power).
