Hazel Dell — Doug Pariseau, who grew up in Hazel Dell and today lives in Issaquah, ran the equivalent of seven marathons in seven days. He did it to raise money for the Issaquah Alps Trails Club and the Mount Rainier Lutheran High School Cross Country Program. Pariseau started at the REI store in Issaquah, where he’s an employee, and ran a total of 185 miles to the REI store in Portland. In an online blog, he said his dream of running marathons started “many many pounds ago” at a doughnut shop in Seattle.
