Emergency medical services officials will meet Thursday to consider approving a strategic plan project for EMS District No. 2, which protects most of Clark County including the areas of Vancouver, Fire District 6, Clark County Fire & Rescue, Fire District 3, Battle Ground, Ridgefield and La Center.

The public meeting of the EMS Administrative Board will be at 3 p.m. in the conference room of Clark Regional Emergency Services Agency, 710 W. 13th St., just north of the Clark County Jail. AMR Northwest currently provides ambulance service to the area.

Officials also will considering hiring a consultant to facilitate future meetings on the project.

The meeting marks the start of a major planning process for emergency medical services, said Chief Dennis Mason of Clark County Fire & Rescue.
