SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — The National Weather Service is warning of wildfire danger Monday afternoon and evening in parts of Eastern Washington as a front moves across the area with dry winds.

Forecasters expect 15-to-25 mph winds with gusts to 30 or 40 mph that could fan grass and brush fires.

The red flag warning covers the lower Columbia Basin around Yakima, Tri-Cities and Walla Walla; also the northeast corner of the state including Colville and Spokane.
