EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams says he has plantar fasciitis in his left foot and is unlikely to play in the team’s final two preseason games.

Williams met with a foot specialist on Monday. He returned to watch practice on Tuesday and says he isn’t concerned about the injury preventing him from playing in the regular season.

Williams says the plan is to rest for precautionary reasons. He also is facing a possible suspension for taking a diuretic with a banned substance in it three years ago. Williams fought the failed test in court, but ultimately lost the case. But he has yet to hear from the league about a suspension.

Whenever Williams is eligible to play, he says there is “no doubt” he will be ready to go.
