RAYMOND, Wash. (AP) — Police are looking for a man who stabbed a Pacific County resident while she was walking her dog.

KBKW radio reports that the stabbing occurred at about 5:30 a.m. Friday outside a home two miles east of Raymond. Police initially said incorrectly that the stabbing happened during a break-in.

Sheriff Scott Johnson says that before the suspect left, the victim fired a handgun at him.
