Olympic champion Neuner to retire after season

FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) — Two-time biathlon Olympic champion Magdalena Neuner says she will retire at the end of the season.

The 24-year-old German says on her website “the time is right for a change” and that she wants to “try out new things” and start a family.

Neuner is the most decorated biathlete with 10 world titles. She won the overall World Cup title in 2008 and 2010 and has 25 World Cup wins. She was Germany’s athlete of the year in 2007.
