PeaceHealth Southwest earns accreditation for rehabilitation services
Tuesday, December 6, 2011
PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center's inpatient rehabilitation unit has earned the maximum three-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
An accredited rehabilitation facility has passed an in-depth review of its services, meets CARF guidelines for service and quality, and conforms to nationally and internationally recognized service standards.
This is the sixth three-year accreditation for the unit.
PeaceHealth Southwest was recognized by surveyors for exemplary conformance in the following areas:
Exceptional processes that support clinical outcomes that beat regional and national standards.
High level of transparency.
Enhanced communication at many levels, including persons served, families and physicians.
These standards result in higher acuity rehab patients achieving greater levels of independence, during a shorter length of stay, with a higher percentage successfully discharged to the community.
PeaceHealth Southwest's inpatient rehab unit was also noted for consistently scoring in the top 1 percent nationally for patient satisfaction compared with similar facilities.
