INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Archie Manning now says his son, Peyton, and Andrew Luck could co-exist as a quarterback tandem in Indianapolis.

One day after Archie Manning told a radio show he wasn’t sure if the two could be teammates, the father tells The Associated Press that he’s “sure” they could work together.

Archie Manning says he thought he was answering a question about whether Luck should sit or play next season and that he believes the Stanford quarterback is ready to play in the NFL.

Peyton Manning has not practiced with his teammates since having neck surgery Sept. 8. Last week, the league’s four-time MVP was cleared by doctors to increase his rehabilitation work. Team officials have not said what that means, though coach Jim Caldwell says Manning is not expected to do on-field work this week.
