Two high-risk sex offenders have changed their address registrations.

Wallace Leroy Hammers and Dean Lewis Beaver are classified as Level 3 sex offenders, the group considered most likely to commit new sex crimes, according to bulletins from the Sex Offender Registration Unit of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Hammers, 59, once lived in the Ridgefield area but now has registered as homeless, his bulletin said.

He was convicted of attempted first-degree rape. He grabbed a woman who was leaving a lounge and beat her in a rape attempt. She suffered a broken nose, black eyes and a head injury.

He also pleaded guilty to two counts of communicating with a minor for immoral purposes. His victim was a 13-year-old girl.

Hammers is white, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes. He drives a blue 1987 Dodge Dakota with Washington license B73478F.

Officials say it’s dangerous when Level 3 sex offenders are homeless, because it makes it difficult track their locations and activities.

Beaver, 50, has moved from west Vancouver to the 3600 block of Southeast St. Clair Road in Washougal, his bulletin says.

Beaver was convicted of displaying erotic material to a boy, 11, whom he paid $35 to watch a pornographic movie with him; first-degree statutory rape; two counts of indecent liberties; and second-degree rape of a child. He sexually assaulted four boys between 1986 and 1998, the bulletin said.

He is white, 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. His eyes and hair are brown. He drives a red and white 1984 Ford Bronco with Washington license ACK0711.

Hammers and Beaver are not being sought by police.

Hammers is monitored by the sheriff’s registration unit and the Sex Offender Tracking Unit of the Vancouver Police Department. Beaver is monitored by the sheriff’s registration unit.
