Letter: Strong schools yield many benefits

The Columbian
Published: December 19, 2011, 4:00pm

Strong schools are the foundation of a strong community. Having adequately sized and highly functional facilities are a necessary part of making schools great. Current school enrollments are 30 percent over built capacity, with additional enrollment coming each year. The proposed Ridgefield school bond provides classroom and core facility investments at each Ridgefield school. It touches all aspects of educating and developing Ridgefield’s youth both inside and outside the classroom.

Even after passing this bond, Ridgefield will remain one of the two lowest school tax rate districts in the county (the lowest if Woodland Public Schools also passes its bond). Please vote “yes” for schools to continue making Ridgefield a great place to live and realize the many long-lasting benefits of strong schools in our community.
