VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — A 15-year-old Vancouver boy accused of dousing his bedroom carpet with gasoline and setting it on fire has been charged with first-degree arson.
The Columbian newspaper (http://bit.ly/spOnRf ) reports a court date of Jan. 4 has been set for Elijah D. Demaray at the Clark County Juvenile Justice Center.
No one was injured in the blaze, and the October fire caused less than $5,000 in damage to the apartment. But the teen faces the stiffer arson charge because the apartment is classified as a multi-family residential structure.
