COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Elena Delle Donne scored 22 points and No. 19 Delaware remained undefeated with a 60-40 win over East Carolina on Wednesday in the first round of the Terrapin Classic.

Delle Donne also had nine rebounds and three blocks, Akeema Richards scored 10 points, and Danielle Parker had eight points and 10 rebounds for Delaware (10-0).

Katie Paschal had eight points and nine rebounds for East Carolina (6-5).

Della Donne, leading the nation with 29.3 points per game, was removed with 5 minutes left and the Blue Hens leading 58-35 — but not before she became only the third player in school history to eclipse 1,600 career points. Della Donne now has 1,616.

The win set up a championship matchup between unbeatens Thursday as Delaware will play fifth-ranked Maryland, which beat Lafayette 84-36 in the other first-round game to improve to 12-0.

East Carolina, held scoreless over the game’s final 6:30, will play Lafayette in the consolation game.
