Bills WR Johnson eying 2nd 1,000-yard season

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Receiver Stevie Johnson has an opportunity to make a lasting impression in what could be his final game with the Buffalo Bills.

With Buffalo (6-9) preparing to close its schedule at New England (12-3) on Sunday, Johnson is 36 yards receiving shy of becoming the first Bills player to reach 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons.

Johnson didn’t realized he had a shot at that mark until a team official told him last week. And he has a hard time believing no one — not Andre Reed or Eric Moulds — had ever done that before.

Johnson’s timing couldn’t be better as he’s in the final year of his contract.

He’d like to return to Buffalo but isn’t sure that will happen after talks broke down this month.
