No. 8 Notre Dame routs Syracuse 71-48

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Devereaux Peters had 15 points and 11 rebounds and No. 8 Notre Dame dominated Syracuse in a 71-48 victory Tuesday night.

Kayla Alexander led the Orange with 17 points and five rebounds.

With 16:39 to go, Natalie Achonwa hit a jumper in the lane and the Irish (19-4, 8-1 Big East) had the Orange (16-5, 4-4) doubled up at 44-22. Achonwa finished with 13 points.

Bruszewski finished with 12 points and seven rebounds, becoming the 27th player in Notre Dame history to score 1000 points in her career.

Skylar Diggins had five steals for the Fighting Irish.

Syracuse guard Aisha Hemingway was hit with a technical foul with 10:31 to play when she recovered a rebound and caught Achonwa in the nose with an elbow.
