Hundreds of Hockinson-area residents were out of electricity Tuesday night after a power line fell in front of the Hockinson Community Church about 6:40 p.m., causing the wire to flash and burn.
“The power outage is pretty extreme,” said Battalion Chief Jeff Stewart at 9 p.m. “It’s most of Hockinson and even Venersborg.”
Clark Public Utilities crews were on the scene.
About 300 customers were out of power for about two hours, said PUD spokeswoman Lena Wittler.
“Because it’s so cold, it’s taking a little longer,” she said about 9:15 p.m.
