YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) — Brandon Bowdry scored 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Eastern Michigan to a 60-56 victory over Akron Wednesday night.

Bowdry was the only player in double figures in either category for Eastern Michigan (6-15, 3-5 Mid-American). Darrell Lampley hit three free throws in the final 21 seconds to help put the game away for the Eagles.

Akron’s Nikola Cvetinovic also had a double-double, with 13 points and a career-high 16 rebounds. Zeke Marshall led the Zips (12-10, 3-5) with 15 points and Darryl Roberts added 11 points.

Eastern Michigan shot 41 percent from the floor while Akron only made 31 percent.

The Eagles led 27-19 at halftime but Akron roared out in the second half, scoring the first 11 points after the break. Eastern Michigan responded with a 12-2 run.
