Robert Morris stifles Bryant in 91-38 rout

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (AP) — Lijah Thompson scored 18 points to lead five Robert Morris players in double figures in a 91-38 rout of Bryant on Thursday night.

Velton Jones added 16 points, Karon Abraham 15, Russell Johnson 14 and Coron Williams 12 for the Colonials (10-12, 6-5 Northeast Conference). Twelve players saw action, with nine scoring.

Robert Morris held the Bulldogs (7-16, 5-6) to just 22.7 percent shooting in the game (10 of 44), including 16 percent in the first half (4 of 25).

It was the second time this season the Colonials held a team to less than 40 points. They beat St. Peter’s 55-30 on Nov. 13, allowing the Peacocks to shoot just 16.7 percent (6 of 36).

Robert Morris scored 20 points off 14 turnovers, outrebounded the Bulldogs 41-24 and had 26 assists, compared to seven by Bryant.

Cecil Gresham was the Bulldogs’ only scorer in double figures with 13.
