Two Vancouver men were hurt Sunday afternoon in a one-car accident on northbound Interstate 5 near the Gee Creek rest area, the Washington State Patrol said.

The patrol said that at 1:29 p.m., a 1995 Buick driven by Timothy A. Ammons, 46, veered off the freeway to the left. Ammons overcorrected, causing the Buick to roll over and come to rest on its wheels just off the right shoulder, the patrol said.

Ammons and his passenger, Jerry L. Robinson, 72, were taken to Southwest Washington Medical Center.

Robinson was in serious condition Sunday night at the medical center. Ammons had been treated and released.

The Buick was totaled.

The patrol said the accident is under investigation.
