Alabama A&M defeats Arkansas-Pine Bluff 74-52

NORMAL, Ala. (AP) — Casey Cantey scored 23 points to lead Alabama A&M over Arkansas-Pine Bluff 74-52 on Monday night.

The Bulldogs (10-10, 6-5 Southwestern Athletic Conference) led 32-29 at halftime and held the Golden Lions to 6-of-18 shooting and scored 16 points off 13 second-half turnovers.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff (4-19, 4-7) made it a two-point game, 26-24, on Allen Smith’s 3-pointer with 17:26 remaining. The Bulldogs then went on a 17-3 run, capped by Jeremy Crutcher’s layup with 11:27 to pull away.

The Golden Lions committed all but three of their turnovers in the second half and their leading scorer, Daniel Broughton scored all 10 of his points in the first half.

Bo Amusa added 12 points and DeMarquelle Tabb had 11 for Alabama A&M.

The Bulldogs shot 43.6 percent from the field (24 of 55), while holding Arkansas-Pine Bluff to 32-percent shooting (16 of 50).
