POULSBO, Wash. (AP) — A solar power project on top of Poulsbo Middle School should start producing electricity next month.

The Kitsap Sun reports it has 390 panels and costs $670,000, making it the largest community solar project of its kind in Washington.

The project is built by the Washington Solar Incentives company using panels built by the Silicon Energy company in Marysville.

Investors are putting up the money to take advantage of federal stimulus money and tax credits.
