PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A former Portland attorney has been charged with drunken and reckless driving after police were called to an affluent neighborhood when a driver began crashing into parked cars.
The Oregonian reports that 42-year-old Shannon Connall appeared Monday in Multnomah County Circuit Court to request the option of an alcohol diversion program to avoid a conviction as a first-time offender following her arrest last Friday.
A spokesman for the Multnomah County district attorney’s office said police found her blood-alcohol level was 0.27 percent, or more than three times the legal limit.
Connall declined comment. She practiced law with her father, attorney Des Connall, representing some of Oregon’s most high-profile criminal defendants before giving up her license in November amid an Oregon State Bar investigation into whether she wrongfully took clients’ money.
