Texas State overwhelms Central Arkansas 85-61

CONWAY, Ark. (AP) — Tony Bishop scored 22 points to lead Texas State to its first conference road win, 85-61 over Central Arkansas on Wednesday night.

Eddie Rios added 19 points and Brooks Ybarra had 10 for the Bobcats (11-12, 6-3 Southland), who turned this one into a blowout early in the second half with an 18-5 run.

Imad Qahwash led the Bears (5-18, 1-9) with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Tadre Sheppard had 12 points.

Texas State led 31-22 at halftime then expanded its advantage to 49-27 612 minutes into second half. The Bobcats led by at least 20 the rest of the way. Rios capped the run with one of his five 3-pointers and hit another with 5:24 remaining to give Texas State its largest lead, 75-48.

After four lead changes and three ties in the first nine minutes, the Bobcats went up 13-12 on Bishop’s layup with 11:02 left in the first half and never trailed again.
