Northern Arizona rallies for 83-74 victory

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — Gabe Rogers scored 29 points and Cameron Jones added 27 as Northern Arizona rallied from an 18-point deficit to beat Eastern Washington 83-74 on Wednesday night.

Rogers and Jones combined for 40 of the Lumberjacks’ 56 second-half points, helping Northern Arizona (15-10, 7-6 Big Sky) shoot 72 percent from the floor after halftime.

Glen Dean had a career-high 31 points for the Eagles (8-17, 5-8). No one else scored in double figures for Eastern Washington, which dropped to 1-13 on the road.

Rogers hit 10-of-16 shots, including all three of his 3-point attempts, in finishing two points shy of his career high. Jones was 8 of 12 from the floor, 11 for 14 from the free-throw line and grabbed eight rebounds.

Shane Johannsen had 12 points, nine rebounds and four blocks for the Lumberjacks, who improved to 10-1 at home.
